On Friday 22 February 2019, The Swedish truck and bus manufacturer Scania opened their new factory in Samut Prakan.
The Managing Director for Scania Siam Co Ltd, Stefan Dorski, said that this is the biggest investment they have ever done in the history of Scania.
Putting in over 10 years of research and development, Scania has invested over 72 billion baht in launching this new generation of trucks.
The new truck line will be delivering up to 5% lower fuel consumption and will also be a more environmentally friendly option since it is going to be the first heavy vehicle in Thailand using the Euro 6 fuel.
The Euro 6 standard is the sixth incarnation of the European Union directive to reduce harmful pollutants from vehicle exhausts and was first introduced in 2014 for light passenger and commercial vehicles.
